F1 Solutions will provide maintenance services to modify, enhance and fix bugs in any
of the systems that we have produced. Maintenance may be performed on ad-hoc basis or fixed fee basis. Tasks that have detailed specifications are usually
performed on fixed fee basis.
SQL Server 2000 Support Agreement
It is essential that regular preventative maintenance service be performed on SQL Server. Failure to
perform this service could result in exposure to virus attacks, outages due to
system code defects, performance deterioration and possibly data corruption.
To maintain SQL Server’s currency at the Microsoft recommended service level F1 Solutions
offers our services to perform the following:

Identify the requisite SQL Server hot fixes and patches,

Apply Microsoft recommended service packs and,
-
Test the SQL Server databases (e.g. databases required by the Defence systems) to
ensure they function as expected.
The SQL Server preventative maintenance service F1 Solutions provides to our clients, on
monthly basis, is:

Provide a checklist to monitor SQL Server’s production operation and report exceptions to F1 Solutions. Note: We automate
this task and receive exception notices electronically.

Research and identify hot fixes and patches applicable to the client specific SQL Server environment.

Apply and test the relevant patches on a test version of SQL Server.

Test the applications using the SQL Server to which preventative maintenance has been applied in the test environment.

If all checks out then apply the preventative maintenance to the production SQL Server environment.

Monitor progress of the production environment and initiate roll back plan in the event of problems.

Schedule next preventative maintenance activity.
